The Remembered Podcast is an opportunity to explore the First World War, and its continuing impact today, in more depth.

Each week, we’ll be chatting to beneficiaries of the There But Not There project, as well as other people who are working to commemorate the war in different ways. The First World War was fought on many fronts and by many different races and we want to give a platform to those different voices, while raising awareness of the There But Not There project.

Episode One: Amandeep Madra of Empire, Faith and War

Interview

In episode one, we speak to Amandeep Madra of the UK Punjab Association about the Empire, Faith and War project about the Sikh community in the First World War.

A big thank you to Amandeep for taking the time to come and speak to us – we could have talked all day! If you would like to know more about the project, please do visit their website or contact them to find out more.

You can also sign up to their newsletter to keep up to date with the project.

Next week we’ll be speaking to Walking With the Wounded about their programmes and how you can help them.

Listener Stories

As well as speaking to people and charities about the projects they’re working on to commemorate the war, we want to share your stories. If you had a relative who served in the First World War and would like us to share their story on the podcast, please email us supporters@tbnt.org.uk. We’re looking for 200-300 word stories or 2-3 minute recordings.

Next week we’ll be speaking to Walking With the Wounded about their programmes and how you can help them. We will also be sharing some news and our first listener story.

You can follow the podcast on SoundCloud, Stitcher and iTunes. Please do subscribe and leave us a review!
