Peter Girling

Peter left the Army in 1971, following which he managed hotels in Cornwall and Sussex. In 1991 he established Girlings Retirement Rentals Ltd., now a wholly owned subsidiary of Places for People. Prior to this, Peter had worked in retirement housing as a Housing Manager with Help the Aged and then as Director of Care Services with McCarthy & Stone.

Peter is non-Executive Chairman of Girlings and a Director of the Places for People Retirement Ltd. He is Honorary President of SAFE which was established in 1987 by John McCarthy of McCarthy and Stone, a charity working to assist victims of violence and abuse. He is a former Trustee and Director of Haig Housing Trust, a former Southern Regional Director of the Princes Trust and is a Church Warden.
