Ben Fogle

Ben Fogle is a broadcaster, traveller, adventurer, writer and environmentalist.

He has rowed the Atlantic Ocean, crossed Antarctica on foot, run across the Sahara, crossed the Empty Quarter on camel and is about to climb Mount Everest as Ambassador for @UNEP  to highlight our impact on the environment.

He has presented numerous hit programmes for the BBC, ITV and Channel 5 and has written six Sunday Times bestsellers.

As well as being an ambassador for There But Not There, Ben is Patron of the Wilderness for the UN, an ambassador for WWF, Medecins Sans Frontier and Tusk, Centrepoint and the Princes Trust, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and patron of The Royal Parks Foundation.

It is very fitting that there is going to be such an extraordinary installation throughout the UK, honouring the Fallen from WWI one hundred years on from the end of that terrible war, with its huge loss of life. People had their futures stripped away, leaving whole families devastated. We must remember those sacrifices and this is is a moving and iconic way to recognise the brave, noble and selfless role our Service personnel played. I am honoured that I have been invited to support this powerful memorial.
