Invictus UK Trials

We are proud to be working alongside the Invictus UK Trials in Sheffield this July. The Trials are delivered by a partnership of Help for Heroes, the Royal British Legion, the Ministry of Defence and Sheffield City Council, who we are delighted to work alongside.

As well as a week of incredible sport, there is plenty going on around the city to commemorate past conflict and honour veterans today.

You will be able to find 5 of our Tommies throughout the city, at sites of historic significance, while the other 5 will be appearing around the Trials.

You can find out more about why these sites are important in our Wartime Sheffield Information Pack.

For more information about the Sheffield Blitz, order a copy of Countdown to the Sheffield Blitz by the Sheffield Blitz Group.

With thanks to Neil Anderson, Richard Godley and the Sheffield Blitz Group for their support and for the photographs used in this pack.

We are also proud to be working with Never Such Innocence, to support their exclusive competition. Young people aged 9-18 are invited to reflect on their family or community’s experience of war and respond creatively through a poem, a speech, a song, or a piece of art. Entries must be submitted by Friday 28th June 2019.

We hope that our Wartime Sheffield pack will prove inspiring for competition entries, as well as enhancing the experience of those visiting Sheffield for the Trials. Sheffield locals are also encouraged to download our pack, to find out more about how their city was impacted during the two world wars.

Check back soon for more information regarding the location of Tommies during the Trials.
